White Soup (Ofe Nsala)🐟

🌶Ingredients :

🐚Goat meat

🐚Dried prawns

🐚Snails

🐚Periwinkle

🐚yam

🐚crayfish

🐚Dawadawa

🐚uziza powder

🐚scotch bonnet pepper

🐚Onion

🐚salt

🐚prawn stock cube

🐚utazi leaves/uziza leaves
water

🐚Steam the meat ,with the onion chopped in

🐚boil the yam in a separate pot (it will be used as a thickner for the soup

🐚pound the yam while the meat still cooks

🐚when the meat is tender,add salt and stock cube

🐚Add ground crayfish
🐚Add Dawadawa

🐚Add uziza powder
cover the pot and let it cook for about 10 minutes

🐚Add the pepper

🐚Add the prawns
🐚Cover again and cook for a few minutes

🐚Add the pounded yam
🐚You might want to check the quantity you add so that your soup doesn’t become too thick

🐚Add the snails

🐚Add the periwinkle


🐚Cover the pot and cook till the yam is dissolved ,it doesn’t take long


🐚Taste for salt and pepper


🐚If the yam isn’t completely dissolved and your soup is getting too thick,you can pick out the bit that hasn’t dissolved yet

🐚Add the utazi leaves/uziza leaves

🐚Serve with pounded yam

  1. the utazi or uziza leaf added, is it dry? cos it looks dry in the pictured and grounded. can one use fresh cut ones plus i couldnt find uziza powder, the one i saw is mixed with something else.
