Turkey and Yam Pepper Soup 🌿

🌿Ingredients
🍅550 grams Turkey wings
🍅600 grams yam
🍅A handful crayfish
🍅1 1/2 cubes Maggi cube
🍅6 calabash nutmegs
🍅Scotch bonnet pepper
🍅A tiny piece of ginger
🍅1 teaspoon salt
🍅1 teaspoon Uziza powder
🍅One medium size onion(diced)
🍅Some fresh basil leaves or scent                          leaves
🍅Water

🍅Season the meat with salt and stock cubes
🍅Add the diced onions
🍅Add 1000ml of Water
🍅Boil

🍅Roast the calabash nutmeg
🍅You can do this over flames from your gas cooker or over a ceramic hob or a stove or even flames from fire wood.

🍅After roasting them
🍅Crack them,it’s easier to do this in a mortar using a pestle

🍅Grind the calabash nutmegs
🌿It’s ok to use an electric grinder🌿

🍅Wash the crayfish
🍅Wash and dice the ginger
🍅Add them to the mortar and grind

🍅Add the scotch bonnet pepper

🍅Grind

🍅After 40 minutes of boiling the turkey
🍅Add the Uziza powder

🍅Add the ground ingredients

🍅Add 400 ml of water
🍅Bring to a boil

🍅After 5 minutes
🍅Add the yam
🍅Cook for 15 more minutes

🍅Add basil leaves/Scent leaves
🍅If you feel your soup is thicker than you want,you can add some more water and bring it to a boil before turning off the heat.
🍅You might pick out the yam if you won’t be serving the soup immediately to prevent it from getting soggy.
