Jelly Doughnuts🍓

🍓INGREDIENTS
🍓550 grams flour
🍓60 grams granulated sugar
🍓50 grams butter(melted)
🍓1/2 teaspoon salt
🍓2 levelled tablespoons active dry yeast
🍓3 eggs (beaten)
🍓250 ml lukewarm milk(mix 2 table spoons of powdered milk with 250 ml warm water)
🍓Vanilla or butterscotch essence/flavour
🍓Strawberry jam
🍓Icing sugar

🍓METHOD

🍓Place flour in a large bowl

🍓Add salt

🍓Mix

🍓Make a hole at the center

🍓Add the yeast

🍓Pour the lukewarm milk over the yeast

🍓Add just a table spoon of sugar (from the sugar measured out)

🍓Give the yeast a bit of a whisk to break any lumps

NOTE :🍩 Whisk only the spot where the milk sits,do not mix the whole bowl of flour🍩

🍓Cover with a foil paper and place in a warm place for about 10-15 minutes

🍓While you wait for the yeast to activate

🍓Add the melted butter to the beaten eggs (NOTE -Your butter should be liquid but not hot, if it’s too hot your eggs will cluster like scrambled eggs)

🍓Whisk

🍓Add any essence/flavour of choice

🍓Add the remaining sugar

🍓Whisk again to incorporate all ingredients

🍓This is what the yeast mixture looks like after 15 minutes

🍓Pour in the egg/butter mixture

🍓Using a wooden spoon or a dough hook (if you have a mixer)stir in all ingredients

🍓The mixture shouldn’t be too hard

🍓It might be a bit tacky but it’s fine,just cover it up with a foil paper again and place in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes

🍓This is what it should look like after 30 minutes

🍓Sprinkle some flour on your kneading surface

🍓Dump the dough and dust with some flour
🍩(Do not use so much flour so that your dough doesn’t become too hard,use just enough to prevent the dough from sticking on the table. )🍩

🍓When the dough is smooth and no longer sticky

🍓Roll

🍓Then using a cup

🍓Cut a circles

🍓Place a baking sheet over a tray

🍓Place the shaped doughs on it

🍓Cover with another baking sheet

🍓Place in warm place and allow to rise for another 15 minutes

🍓Fry on medium heat for 3-4 minutes until each side is golden brown

🍓Fill up a piping bag with the strawberry jam and insert a nozzle

🍓Insert the nozzle into your doughnuts and squeeze in some jam

🍓Sprinkle some icing sugar over them

    1. Hi,I’m really sorry you experienced this. Did you actually measure? I.e. use a scale or a measuring cup, did you mix the milk powder and warm water or did you use evaporated milk? When the liquid is too much your dough will be difficult to roll.
