Jelly Doughnuts๐Ÿ“

๐Ÿ“INGREDIENTS
๐Ÿ“550 grams flour
๐Ÿ“60 grams granulated sugar
๐Ÿ“50 grams butter(melted)
๐Ÿ“1/2 teaspoon salt
๐Ÿ“2 levelled tablespoons active dry yeast
๐Ÿ“3 eggs (beaten)
๐Ÿ“250 ml lukewarm milk(mix 2 table spoons of powdered milk with 250 ml warm water)
๐Ÿ“Vanilla or butterscotch essence/flavour
๐Ÿ“Strawberry jam
๐Ÿ“Icing sugar

๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ

๐Ÿ“METHOD

๐Ÿ“Place flour in a large bowl

๐Ÿ“Add salt

๐Ÿ“Mix

๐Ÿ“Make a hole at the center

๐Ÿ“Add the yeast

๐Ÿ“Pour the lukewarm milk over the yeast

๐Ÿ“Add just a table spoon of sugar (from the sugar measured out)

๐Ÿ“Give the yeast a bit of a whisk to break any lumps

NOTE :๐Ÿฉ Whisk only the spot where the milk sits,do not mix the whole bowl of flour๐Ÿฉ

๐Ÿ“Cover with a foil paper and place in a warm place for about 10-15 minutes

๐Ÿ“While you wait for the yeast to activate

๐Ÿ“Add the melted butter to the beaten eggs (NOTE -Your butter should be liquid but not hot, if it’s too hot your eggs will cluster like scrambled eggs)

๐Ÿ“Whisk

๐Ÿ“Add any essence/flavour of choice

๐Ÿ“Add the remaining sugar

๐Ÿ“Whisk again to incorporate all ingredients

๐Ÿ“This is what the yeast mixture looks like after 15 minutes

๐Ÿ“Pour in the egg/butter mixture

๐Ÿ“Using a wooden spoon or a dough hook (if you have a mixer)stir in all ingredients

๐Ÿ“The mixture shouldn’t be too hard

๐Ÿ“It might be a bit tacky but it’s fine,just cover it up with a foil paper again and place in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes

๐Ÿ“This is what it should look like after 30 minutes

๐Ÿ“Sprinkle some flour on your kneading surface

๐Ÿ“Dump the dough and dust with some flour
๐Ÿฉ(Do not use so much flour so that your dough doesn’t become too hard,use just enough to prevent the dough from sticking on the table. )๐Ÿฉ

๐Ÿ“When the dough is smooth and no longer sticky

๐Ÿ“Roll

๐Ÿ“Then using a cup

๐Ÿ“Cut a circles

๐Ÿ“Place a baking sheet over a tray

๐Ÿ“Place the shaped doughs on it

๐Ÿ“Cover with another baking sheet

๐Ÿ“Place in warm place and allow to rise for another 15 minutes

๐Ÿ“Fry on medium heat for 3-4 minutes until each side is golden brown

๐Ÿ“Fill up a piping bag with the strawberry jam and insert a nozzle

๐Ÿ“Insert the nozzle into your doughnuts and squeeze in some jam

๐Ÿ“Sprinkle some icing sugar over them

    1. Hi,I’m really sorry you experienced this. Did you actually measure? I.e. use a scale or a measuring cup, did you mix the milk powder and warm water or did you use evaporated milk? When the liquid is too much your dough will be difficult to roll.
